  1. Always remember that for the Americans for the last 100 years, wars have meant one thing. Profits. NEVER principles.

    1. Do you post on the Canary under a different name? If not, you’ve been plagiarized! I cut & pasted it for you…

      1. Yes, same person. Also the Great Ron Rafferty and Pat Glover. Mainly comes from who I posted as on the Guardian. But apparently my Comment was TOO free in that rag!

    2. Defeats and strategic failures — WW I + II aside — mark the US’ perpetual wars. The US loses every single war it ever mounts – from inception to date!. Its first war, the American-Algerian War (1785–1795) ended with the U.S. agreeing to pay an annual tribute to Algiers, the Korean War (1950–1953) ended in a stalemate with the signing of an armistice, leaving the peninsula divided and no formal peace treaty signed: The Vietnam War (1955–1975) ended with the fall of Saigon and the reunification of Vietnam under communist rule, the Bay of Pigs Invasion (1961) failed within days, resulting in the capture of Cuban exiles and a major embarrassment for U.S. foreign policy.
The War in Afghanistan (2001–2021) concluded with the Taliban’s swift takeover after the U.S. withdrawal, marking another strategic failure.

World Wars aside, the U.S. has NEVER won a major war, pretty appalling for a country committed to PERPETUAL WAR.

      1. Perhaps when some are fighting for profits & a clique it doesn’t mean as much as when you are fighting to free your country for the masses, and for it to belong to them not it’s rich & powerful?

      2. Yes it’s a bit of a give-away as to for whose benefit these wars are waged in the first place, isn’t it! It looks for all the world as though THE WHOLE POINT is to start them. Certainly, no thought is given to either strategy or handling the aftermath (see Iraq).

No, the point is to start them. That gets the public onside (in theory), the arms contracts signed and the profits rolling right in to the MIC (military industrial complex) coffers & their shareholders’ bank accounts.

That’s also, of course, why prolonging them is paramount (see Ukraine). Fuck the lives lost, how are the profits gonna continue if we waste time & effort trying to end them, for heaven’s sake?!

  2. ‘The Stealing Of Palestine’s Land, Gas & Oil Piece By Piece Board.
    With 680,00 Palestinians Dead.
Whilst the actions of the oppressed have been peaceful.
But the Rich must be fed (?)’
Italy’s trade unions & masses are showing the way.
We the many really have the power in our heads, hands & pockets. Solidarity!
