Zack Polanski is new Greens leader. Mothin Ali deputy

Zack Polanski has been announced as winner of the Green party leadership election.
The announcement says that ‘detailed results’ will be announced tomorrow, but Skwawkbox understands from party insiders that the result was a landslide in Polanski’s favour over his centrist opponents.
Mothin Ali is the new deputy leader, despite a smear campaign by supporters of Israel.

Hmmm…
Something about polanski just doesn’t sit right with me. Can’t put me finger on it, but I hope I’m wrong.
I think you are wrong. He has wobbled on occasions but on the whole he is a good man
Congratulations to Zac and Ali. Two more souls for the BBC to undermine, at the behest of the Israeli lobbyists.Progress for working people!
Labour has already attacked him over NATO.
Ellie Reeves issued a blank cheque to NATO, a ‘defensive’ alliance that just happens to attack other countries–Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Libya.
I see that a group calling itself “Hold Fast Labour” is holding an event whose theme is “Turning the Rising Green Tide 2025”.
One of the speakers is Thangamm Debbonaire who spectacularly lost her seat to the Green Party on a swing of 28.2%. I am not sure what her contribution is likely to be.

Perhaps it’s a sermon on how to get your arse handed to you on a platter.
There’s a certain poster (now sporadically) on here could also give chapter & verse on the subject.
Their 50 year stint is coming to its end:
i) Zack n Ali leading the Greens, ii) Starmer going-down with Labour, and, iii) YourParty shaping-up nicely….
Thatcher’s children will not be in the driving seat for long.
Easy on the optimism there, qwerty. There’s no sign as yet that Corbyn’s learned from recent history…

I voted for both Zack P and Mothin Ali in the Green Party leadership election – so it’s hard not to be a bit optimistic, timfrom.
Most of the party’s 68,500 members (particularly the big chunk of us that are ‘dearly-departed’ from Labour) no-doubt agree with Tony G and Zarah Sultana ‘s point.
My point. though, was that the times they are a-changing – and sorry but that tickles me pink!
Only something like a third of Green members (65,000) voted.
He got 20,000 v 3,000.
Greens have been pretty good on Palestine & some decent policies but in the end are a bourgeois capitalist environmentalist party with a few socialists in it.
Your Party now up to 850,000 people signing up & might have 1,000,000 by the November or so launch.
That’s where I’m putting my efforts.
