Pope Francis has died. He stood for the oppressed against the wicked

Pope Francis has died this morning after a prolonged battle against illness. For all the flaws and issues with the church, he was a force for good who stood up for the oppressed, the poor and the victims of genocide and against the powerful, the oppressor and the murderous. Almost his last act was to have one of his Cardinals rebuke US vice president JD Vance for the wickedness of the Trump regime during Vance’s visit to the Vatican during Easter weekend.

A statement from Cardinal Kevin Farrell this morning paid tribute to him:

Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.

Francis had asked to be buried in a simple coffin and not to be raised on a dais above mourners during his lying in state and funeral. Having been consistently rebuked by him and continuing to do evil, western political leaders are now fawning over him in death – of course without ever mentioning the Gaza genocide he vocally opposed.

Below are some of Skwawkbox’s articles involving him:

May he rest in peace and may his successor be made of the same.
