Gaza ceasefire announced

Let us pray that it holds – and Israel actually stops it’s genocide

Palestinians are celebrating after a ceasefire deal was announced this evening that should bring an end to Israel’s genocide:

Israel’s racism, contempt for international law and human rights and frank murderousness mean that prayers are needed for it to hold – and to actually mean the bombing and starvation cease.

  1. I sincerely hope there is a real and lasting peace for the Palestinians …. but there hasn’t been since 1948

  2. Now is the most dangerous time for the Gazans, between now and the commencement of the ceasefire. Caution is also required as the ceasefire with Lebanon was violated by Israel on several occasions. It will depend upon just how this ceasefire is to be enforced.

  3. Israel’s western backers, US, UK, France, Germany ect, will all turn Nelson’s eye to any, and all, Israeli violations of the ceasefire.

  4. I believe Israel will break the ceasefire, I think they have gone to far to stop and probably agreed to this ceasefire just to rearm for the next stage of their war crimes maybe they are pulling out to regroup and attack Iran I hope i’m wrong but they have broke every agreement so far how the fuck can these zionist be trusted

  5. Yes let’s hope for peace.
I have little time for Hamas since in the previous uprisings they slaughtered some young Palestinians who were protesting that their then rockets were costing too many Palestinian lives.
I don’t agree with the political & military strategy of Hamas but it is presented as though they indiscriminately attacked the Israeli public but militarily they attacked armed illegal settlements.
Some argue they felt they were being left behind by Middle East Deals with the Occupation Force.
Bur they wanted their country back & perhaps what would help Biden & others thinking is: Were the French Resistance terrorists?
Hamas want an Islamic state like Hezbollah & both would probably want to drive Jewish people out?
But many socialists & other progressives including great Palestinian thinkers like Edward Said would be happy with One Multi-Ethnic Democratic State of Palestine where all including Palestinians & Jews live together in Peace & perhaps then class politics takes over.
The Occupation Force’s economy has probably been hit by £300b now, multi-nationals are being hurt by BDS & some universities & communities are disinvesting plus Palestine Action are impacting on arms suppliers.
Perhaps capital is changing its strategy but it is the settlement part that is vital.
    Peace & Justice.
