School forced to close after confirmed COVID-19 case – 3 miles from govt’s criticised ‘quarantine’

School closes after parent confirmed to have coronavirus visits school close to Arrowe Park hospital

Hilbre High School on the Wirral

A school on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside has been forced to close after exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus. A parent who visited Hilbre High School has been confirmed to be suffering from the infection.

Wirral residents had raised concerns about the lax supposed ‘quarantine’ at the Wirral’s Arrowe Park hospital, after a returning passenger called Radio 4 and described arrangements that allowed potential sufferers to go out and to mingle with staff and patients with only masks – not considered effective in preventing transmission – for protection.

The Department of Health confirmed to the SKWAWKBOX that ‘quarantined’ people were free to move around and were simply asked to ‘self-isolate’ if they felt ill:

Arrowe Park hospital is only three miles from Hilbre High School.

It is not yet known how the parent became infected – but when a recent second tranche of passengers was brought to the hospital last week, health staff and bus drivers could clearly be seen without protective clothing or equipment:

  1. It’s here now. There’s no ‘containing’ it anymore; the main concern now is to retard it’s proliferation before a vaccine can be developed and manufactured in sufficient quantity.

The location of this latest case seems to be no more than concidence. According to a news bulletin on radio murkeyside earlier, the infected person is a parent of a child from the school who recently went on a skiing trip to Italy (The child – not the parent).

But it’s not believed to be linked to that?!
