Video: thousands queue in rain to get into Labour’s Manchester rally

Queues around the building show appetite for real change

Even in fast forward, the queue is impressive

Such is the excitement around Labour’s general election campaign, outstanding policies and the public’s appetite for real change that queues formed around the block to get into the Manchester Apollo for a Labour campaign rally this evening, in spite of foul weather.

If the Tories hoped that a winter election would prevent people turning out to campaign or to vote, the evidence suggests they’re going to be disappointed:

The Apollo holds 3,500 people and it was far from unlikely that not all those waiting would be able to get in.

Boris Johnson, meanwhile, is sticking to Theresa May’s disastrous formula of closed visits surrounded by glum-looking staff and stage-managed, tiny audiences in an attempt to fake what Labour clearly has authentically and in abundance.

Such realities are, of course, extremely unlikely to make it onto the BBC or other broadcasters, so as ever it’s up to Labour’s supporters to spread awareness.

  1. Johnson could hire our village hall. He might get a few of the better off misguided pensioners in (if there’s nothing good on the telly, that is)

    1. Your suggestion comes too late Aidey He has organised his next rally in the phone box next to the villiage hall.THE BBC has reported that he is confident there will be standing room only LOL

  2. What a turnout on a wet winter’s evening! We are all rooting for you Jeremy and look forward to the day you walk into No 10.

  3. Difficult to see true numbers as video is on a continuous repeated loop

  4. We can’t stop the press bias,…and misrepresentation of the Labour party. But we can have a massive clearance from the BBC of the airhead Babes and clown reporters.HQ of our BBC and radio to BOLTON or Halifax they will be inspired by our back streets and ginnels, and still a few old dilapidated mills to convert into swanky new apartments for the London centric glitterati to live amongst the people of these friendly old mill towns..Its the best we can do without any Siberian salt mines!
