As Johnson’s brother quits Parliament, FT reports mere prospect of Corbyn govt sends pound soaring

Labour government recognised as what UK needs

“The choice for the country is clear whenever the general election is called: a Tory that not even his own brother can support – or a Labour leader that even the party’s traditional opponents recognise is what the UK needs.”

The Financial Times (FT) has reported that:

analysts are starting to believe that the diehard socialist leader of the Labour party could be just what sterling needs in this, its darkest hour.

The news comes as Boris Johnson’s brother Jo has sensationally quit – not only as a minister but Parliament entirely – because he can’t reconcile supporting his brother against the national interest:

  1. If ever there was a right time this is it. Bring back Chris Williamson and kill the witch hunt once and for all. It is vital we have MPs of the high calibre of Chris to put our programme to the people without the lies or spin we’ve had from Johnson.

Jennie Formby now needs to listen to the true Socialists in the Party and not fifth columnists such as the JLM, the LFI and Tom Watson.

    1. Spot won jack……We do not sacrifice socialist leaders on the wim of the M S M …and we do need politicians of principal and guts if we are in government. The media will run with the establishment as per usual and the Labour government will be in a position to deal with the BBC and the media for the not fit for purpose fake news and propoganda!.We urgently need to get rid of Watson because he ligitmitly can claim he speaks for the Labour party….and don’t the media love it…!

  2. Yeah, alright then…

Do that, and then the MSM return RIGHT BACK to the a/s bollocks and then the clown and his circus get zero scrutiny….Again.

One thing at a time – all in good time.

    1. The Toffee. The ‘keep quiet tactic’ has failed. We should not recoil from the MSM just because they shout BOO. A timid Party will never get into power. Bullies need to be confronted and not appeased. It’s not a question of confronting a/s or calling out the clown, we can do both.

  3. Yes….Don’t rock the boat!……We the Labour party had been out of power for nearly 20years and we were virtually The opposition party.Along came a young brilliant and new leader.,big ideas and big promises to democratise Labour. We worked hand in hand with the establishment and marginalized the unions and brokered a deal with the Murdoch press…..Landslide election win….scrap clause 4….more P FI…..and everything in the garden was rosey?…….We basically with help from councillors like me and a large enthusiastic membership sold all of our principles and our assets to gain power and a landslide victory for the Labour party……and what about socialism…..it was dying…and along came Jeremy Corbyn…a decent human being and a socialist of repute What a chance for Socialism…..don’t blow it to be in government?

  4. John Curtice’s article in Friday’s Groan is worth a read when considering the question of a general election and its timing.

Timing is, in fact, all in this case, and the reason Mr Toad wants a GE is that currently the Tories look to have a healthy lead over Labour. The truth about him as a useless (if dangerous) Total Tosser hasn’t yet cut through amongst the dim and dozy*, whilst all the propaganda *against* Corbyn has.

*’dim & dozy* = that part of the population who believe what it reads in the Sun/Mail in preference to the blindingly obvious.
