Film star Robert De Niro had two words for Donald Trump at last night’s Tony Awards in a remarkable live TV moment that was censored by the US feed – but not by Australia.

The crowd cheered, applauded, rose in acclamation – and De Niro prolonged the cheers with an encore:

The UK could do with some similar forthrightness on our media about Theresa May and her government.

  1. I’ve always loved Robert De Niro, he’s a consummate actor but I like him even more after this.

  2. I’d cheer louder if he made a commitment not to lobby for or exploit any changes in Barbudan land laws to build his luxury resort on what I understand is communal land.

    1. Yes, he colluded with the government to chuck people off their land and fishing livelihoods to build an exclusive resort for wealthy only.
He’s also a supporter of IDF.

US is full of super wealthy neo liberal hypocrites who supported Obama and Clinton who are also backed by banksters, monopolists and military industrial complex.
The only difference with Trump is he is the reality show true face of the ‘extreme centre’ of neoliberal/neocon consensus, the media protective, whitewashing veil has been lifted. US is de-facto a one party state. UK up until Corbyn has also been a one party state since Thatcher, the cross party of wealthy vested interests.
