Video: Maybot ‘campaigns’ in Dudley. ‘Nothing has changed. Nothing has changed’

Theresa May ‘campaigning’

Theresa May went ‘campaigning’ in the West Midlands borough of Dudley this evening. It seems she has learned nothing from last year – or perhaps her handlers have learned that there’s simply nothing better she’s capable of doing:

Mrs May reportedly arrived by helicopter, landing on a nearby golf course. So urgent was the imperative that she not meet any ordinary people that she then travelled the single mile by cavalcade to the local Conservative club venue for her appearance, where it probably doesn’t take a great deal of imagination to picture the people she ‘met’.

The resemblance to last year’s disastrous appearances – in which, for example, she booked a Scottish village hall under cover of a child’s birthday party in order to avoid any ‘unsuitable’ locals turning up, then had the booking deleted to try to disguise the fact – is striking.

May and her Home Secretary Amber Rudd had a small breathing space from the scandal of their Windrush shame because of the royal birth, but calls for their resignations continue.

Meanwhile, in spite of relentless media smears – again just like last year – Labour has shown gains in by-elections leading up to next month’s local elections across the nation and Jeremy Corbyn received a huge standing ovation even in the relative centrist stronghold of Wales yesterday.

  1. Did Theresa May demonstrate her strength and leadership by inviting representatives of the local Afro Caribbean community to attend her election campaign meeting so she could personally re-assure them about what she was doing to sort out the shameful Windrush situation that she is directly responsible for.

  2. The fact that the helicopter landed on a golf course tells you everything you need to know,’seclusion’.
