LGBT folk officially win the internet with #Moggmentum ‘hijack’

It’s well-known that right-wingers want to censor the internet and restrict social media. This is because they know they can never win fair and square.

Whether it’s getting their butt kicked by Momentum, new left media and a host of left-wing activists or the ongoing disaster zone of ‘Activate’, Tories just aren’t capable of the kind of spontaneous, creative response to events that now characterise the left.

Today it was the turn of supposed Conservative leadership prospect Jacob Rees-Mogg to be schooled for his statement to ITV that, as well as abortion even for rape victims, he opposes same-sex marriage.

So the LGBT community and its friends flooded the #Moggmentum hashtag that the few remaining Tory activists had set up to promote his leadership chances – with pictures of LGBT people kissing:

By making their point with élan, humour and just bloody genius, LGBT people officially won the internet.

Jacob Rees-Mogg didn’t.
