Justin Madders joins the video update club

Chris Williamson MP’s ‘Week in Westminster’ video update series has become a regular feature of both his Facebook page and the SKWAWKBOX and this blog encourages every Labour MP to do something similar as a way of engaging with voters and demystifying Parliament.

Another MP has come to our notice who, since the General Election, is also making regular – in this case monthly – video updates for his constituents and the wider public to give them a window into the goings-on at Westminster: bravo to Justin Madders, Labour MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, for going the extra mile to connect with the public.

Here’s a sample of his latest video, in which Justin addresses issues from public sector pay to Tory divisions and policy vacuum to the nonsense of the ‘Great Repeal Bill’ and more:

Madders told the SKWAWKBOX:

The purpose of the videos is to try and provide a summary of the previous months issues with my own personal slant on them. I am really trying different ways of reaching people who might not have the time or inclination to watch all the politics shows.

To watch the full 5-minute video and keep up with Justin’s monthly updates, visit and follow his Facebook page – and if your own MP starts anything similar, or is already doing it, make sure to let the SKWAWKBOX know.

The Tories are terrified of an informed public. So that’s what’s in all our best interests.
