Excl: Lab HQ DID deactivate JC team passes on election night – and more

The ‘Southside’ building on Victoria St, which houses Labour’s HQ

As Private Eye has observed, Labour’s HQ – currently occupied by many who are less than friendly to the idea of the party as a genuine, socialist electoral alternative under Jeremy Corbyn in spite of the vast majority of members’ full support for it – ended up with egg on their faces on the night of 8 June:

Having fallen for their own propaganda of ‘electoral meltdown’ – being far too removed from the grassroots members, any one of whom would have told them differently – the hapless right-wingers apparently prepared what was effectively a would-be coup, ‘changing the locks’ (or rather, deactivating the entry cards) to prevent Jeremy Corbyn’s team from accessing the building.

The sheer arrogance of this is as staggering as the extent to which the party’s bureaucracy (and its right-wing MPs) are out of touch. Even if Labour had done badly in the General Election, there was no obligation for Jeremy Corbyn to stand down – and indeed, having won two election contests overwhelmingly, with a huge majority of members determined that he should not go, there was every expectation that Corbyn would continue to stand firm.

Yet the Blairite relics were convinced they could just lock him and his team out of the building.

The SKWAWKBOX can exclusively confirm that deactivating the door passes was not the limit of right-wing arrogance and idiocy at ‘Southside’ that night. According to a very senior Labour source, the email accounts of Corbyn’s team were also shut down.

There is definitely a need for some deactivations – and some desk-clearing – at Labour’s HQ. But it’s not Corbyn and his support team that should be marched out by security clutching their possessions in a cardboard box.

  1. Can’t get there but I’m buying up loads of popcorn for the Labour Party conference. McNicol, eat your heart out.

  2. Until this gang are cleared out there can be no peace in the party. Time is short and they are playing for it. Jeremy has to be decisive and quickly. A big clearout starting with whip withdrawals and a couple of selective expulsions has to happen. If this is not done then the party will be undermined by these people.

    1. Expulsion/deselection’s the only answer, in my book. Every current labour MP – without exception – simply MUST be put up for reselection when the next election’s called…Preferably beforehand.

Removing the whip would only leave them free to vote with the toerags without the accompanying scrutiny & accompanying censure.

  3. One phrase describes this, Gross Misconduct. Investigate and discipline any one found to have willingly taken part.

  4. Aw, man, am I sick of these people.

Conference soon, time to at least gain control of the NCC and run these pathetic hacks through wringer into deserved ignominy.

  5. Not surprising at all, these people ARE NOT REALLY SOCIALISTS . they are pretending to be for the sole purpose of destroying any vestige of socialism in the Labour party just like Blair was. The establishment do not want a peoples government they want one they have control over and that is who these people work for. Its not arrogance its their job

  6. Umunna & jowell once sent a letter to chris grayling (Then justice minister) imploring him to extend a squatting ban to non residential buildings…

Time for them & their lot to be on the end of an eviction. Could start by deactivating THEIR passes, or at least making a ‘poor door’ for them and the rest of the ‘squatters’ to go through.

    Shower o’ sh….

  7. Nicole is the most dishonest of the lot. He hinders our party & membership against the Labour Parties offical rule book. No trust no respect from me. He needs to be removed immediately

  8. Suffice it to say that a special reception has been organised for Iain McNicol during Conference.

  9. How did Laura Kuesnberg know about this? Further, why did Yvette Cooper defend Kuensberg when it is well known she is a biased Tory stooge? Just so sick of this, why are these people trying to ruin the party, they are in the minority yet they think they can inflict n their wants on everyone else!

    1. why did Yvette Cooper defend Kuensberg when it is well known she is a biased Tory stooge?

      ‘Why’ indeed. ‘Girl power’?

      I thinks not, somehow.

    2. Yup Cooper is very quiet over the defending and supporting one of our own Diane Abbott and the bullying she has suffered , funny that isn’t it.

      1. Cooper was on Radio 4, Woman’s Hour, this morning and she was talking about Diane Abbott and the abuse she has suffered.

      2. Not really :/

But then again, she’s married to a proper weirdo anyway.

  10. As they are not likely to go away voluntarily, which would be the decent thing to do, they will need to be given their marching orders. They had 2 years to mend their ways! Enough is enough!

  11. surely this enough to sack all those involved the same types are taking over the LP in wales be on GUARD

  12. I remember at the 1st Leadership Election the Tory leaders were telling their members to pay for a Member’s vote & to vote for Jeremy Corbyn, in the mistaken belief that would destroy the Labour Party. The Right Wing Blairites / Tories (same thing, different banner) did their utmost to do this & to some degree, they have succeeded. It is my belief that it was the PLP who were responsible for Labour not winning June’s election. If they had respected the membership in the first place & supported Jeremy from the start, just think what could have been achieved.

  13. THE RIGHT WINGERS DAYS ARE NUMBERED!
MISCREANTS, MORONS NAY PIRATES OF THE GREAT LABOUR PARTY NOW UNDER THE HOSPICE OF THE LEFT, WHICH IT WAS CREATED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE, FOR US ORDINARY PEOPLE.
    THE MAJORITY!
SOME CAN BE HUDWINKED INTO THINKING THE RIGHT WINGERS CAN DO A BETTER JOB.
    THEY CAN’T!
YOU ARE THE PAST, WE ARE THE FUTURE!
THEY WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO BRING DOWN OUR LABOUR PARTY, UNDER CORBYN!
YOU HAVE AS MUCH CHANCE, AS A SNOWBALL IN HELL!

  14. For God sake.! Haven’t we got enough to deal with being constantly attacked and having to keep fighting the Tories, without this kind of shit from our own party. (Supposedly). Why do we bother when they totally disregard us and disrespect and back stab the leader that we have chosen TWICE.

  15. I wonder where the Blairites get the idea that June 8th would be a Corbyn meltdown.

When the election was called I listened avidly to LBC. Usually very right wing, and at the start 4 out of 5 callers were anti Corbyn, many pro Tory, but by June 7th 4 out of 5 were pro Corbyn and even the anti Corbyn/Tory callers were getting a hard time from the usually right wing presenters. I knew the tories we’re in trouble and Labour would make gains but outright victory was not expected, but not impossible either.

In fact I am enjoying watching the Tory fools destroy themselves due to Brexit. (I am pro Brexit but not the Tory version of it. We need to go back to a pre Maastricht, pre EU, old EEC, pre €euro Europe that worked.)

  16. I find it so depressing to read this. It also makes me very angry. McNicol must go as must those Labour staffers who were involved. Arrogant “old school” Labour who still think they “own” the party. They don’t and they must go as they refuse to change..

  17. Really it’s about time we took some Affirmative Acton against the real destructive and treacherous elements of the labour party and im amazed Blair still stalks Labour’s corridors like Jacob Martley clanking his chains. Its particularly annoying when so many good comrades remain suspended

  18. Hahaa! Would’ve so loved to have been a fly on the wall of the space McNicoll was in when he saw that exit poll😂😂😂. Could imagine him bursting into a sweaty little ball and saying,’Omg! And I’ve turned their passes and emails off!’
Seriously, If you did this in any other place of work, your job would be gone – it’s gross misconduct. Unless HR were in on it too. I’d even go so far as to say that the combined treachery and cynical sculldugery of McNicoll, Dugdale, and all, cost Labour the election, at least a bigger minority given the timescale. Don’t believe me? Do the math.

    1. Oh, and they’ll do their damnedest to stop Corbyn from getting a majority at the next election if they’re not expunged, pdq.

      Tory in all but name.
