Labour MP for Nottingham East Chris Leslie was not a happy bunny after the General Election. In spite of the ‘Corbyn surge’ that reversed the effects of 21 months of disloyal right-wing MPs, an unprecedented, relentless media onslaught, increased the number of Labour MPs by thirty when the party was predicted to lose up to one hundred – and increased Leslie’s own majority from just under twelve thousand to almost twenty thousand – Leslie couldn’t abandon his ridiculously anti-Corbyn position.
Two days after polling day, Leslie spoke to the BBC to talk of missing open goals and, ludicrously, to imply that Labour would have done better with a different leader:
That prompted a serious – and brutally frank – smackdown by former front-bencher Clive Lewis, who called the former Shadow Chancellor ‘a sad, lonely, bitter man’ and warned him he was putting himself in a ‘pretty difficult place’ for his lack of respect for Labour’s and Corbyn’s achievement:
But it seems Clive Lewis may not have been alone in his low opinion of Leslie’s behaviour. The SKWAWKBOX has received a copy of an email purportedly sent by a local councillor and signed by a huge number of Labour members in Leslie’s own constituency castigating him for it and calling on him to keep his mouth closed in public:
The names of about six hundred Nottingham East Labour members appear at the end of the email sent to Leslie. That a copy of it was subsequently sent to the SKWAWKBOX for publication suggests they may still be less than happy.

Chris Leslie best take note of that powerful letter from some 600 of his constituency members and start showing respect and loyalty to his elected leader.
If he doesn’t like it, there are other parties he can join. And there are other candidates who would willingly take his place. Selfish, childish man

How about the self-centred, narrow-minded twunt makes an issue of the injustices of the disabled, the unemployed and the public services pay cap (To name but three) before prattling on & complaining of the democratic will of the party he’s supposed to represent, and giving the right-wing media something to have a tug about?

Get in touch with Momentum in your area, get them to upload any forthcoming AGM meetings to the Momentum phonebanking system, get calling to mobilise support for pro-Corbyn conference delegates … their support only counts if they turn up on the night!
CLPD are pushing for rule changes to make it easier to force existing MPs into a full selection procedure. Getting supportive delegates to the conference is the only way to enact these changes.
Leslie can cry into his beer on his own dime, Labour members deserve better.
His P45 should be in the post.
If you don’t like it, Mr Leslie, do the decent thing and resign.
Dear Chris, please have the guts to join another party or stand as an independent because frankly, we’re sick and tired of this nonsense, had it not been for yours and other usual suspects over the past 2 years Jeremy and Labour would have won that election, you ought to be thoroughly ashamed of yourself – now please just go.
Leslie is a Scab pure and simple, not wanted or needed in our Party, and like many others we need their seats just not those that occupy them at the moment, but the clear out will come and soon!
I always thought Nutall of UKIP was always over the top when he sought to upstage Labour and someone is telling me that that guy is Labour. There is a leadership vacancy over there.Take some pills to calm yourself man as Bercow would say.

Whilst some more polite members are requesting him to toe the line I would prefer to ask him to sod off and join a party more in keeping with his views.
I wonder how much longer we are going to have to put up with behaviour like this from disgruntled and narrow-minded right-wing Labour MPs. Can’t they see the days of New Labour are over – dead and buried, in fact – and now we all need to be working towards Jeremy Corbyn’s wonderful vision of a kinder, fairer and more caring society for all – young and old, fit and disabled, employed and unemployed – for everyone regardless of their race, colour, or creed.
Instead of this continual sniping and manoeuvring against our Leader, these pitiful remnants of Mr Blair’s administration should remember that Jeremy was awarded the Gandhi Foundation International Peace Award for 2013 “in recognition of his consistent efforts over a 30 year Parliamentary career to uphold the Gandhian values of social justice and nonviolence. Besides being a popular and hard-working constituency MP he has made time to speak and write extensively in support of human rights at home and worldwide. His committed opposition to neo-colonial wars and to nuclear weapons has repeatedly shown the lack of truth in the arguments of those who have opposed him” (their words, not mine). They should also remember that Mr Blair’s epitaph will be the devastating report by Sir John Chilcot, which mauled the ex-prime minister’s reputation.
Finally, I would like to comment on the names we Corbyn supporters have been called by these thoroughly unpleasant people – Morons, Idiots, Moonies,Thugs, Stormtroopers, Jihadists, Commies, Nazis, etc., and members of the ‘Hard Left’. I find them very offensive and totally inappropriate, given that I am a well educated, severely disabled pensioner, who joined the Labour party in 2015 purely because I realised that Jeremy Corbyn was the gentle, honest and compassionate Leader that I, and so many other people, had been crying out for for so many, many years
