Survivors of the terrible Grenfell Tower tragedy have had insult heaped upon injury by the abominable Tory RBKC (Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea) council.
They have had the rent for their destroyed flats charged to their bank accounts:
This despite a promise to residents by the council, in the days following the blaze, not to do so.
The leader and deputy leader of RBKC have now both resigned. It’s not enough. Every Tory on that council should be resigning their seats so local people can elect councillors from a party that has not inflicted huge – and lethal – cuts of 40% on local government.

Shocking as it is, I’m not remotely surprised. Tbh, I half expected something along these lines to happen..
Nor will I be if it happens next month to one or two, neither.
Almost every press report speaks of “a survivor” being involved (the exception being the Independent), and again this is someone saying that someone said – so far as I know the offended person has not been quoted directly.
If ITV felt the need to put the “1 person” quote in inverted commas, I’m surprised that this article hasn’t treated the multiple residents headline in the same way.
