Video: Boris Johnson telling fire-safety panel “Get stuffed”. #Grenfell

Does the arrogance of Tories know no bounds?

Video has emerged of then-London Mayor Boris Johnson defending his cuts to fire services in London before a fire-safety panel of London Assembly Members.

When challenged to explain how cutting fire stations, firefighter positions, fire safety officers could possibly not put the lives of London residents at risk, Johnson at first tries to defend the indefensible by simply asserting that his recklessness works and improves safety.

Then, when challenged further, he tells a Labour AM,

Oh get stuffed.

Johnson was warned from all sides. The Tories were warned from all sides. They now have the deaths and terrible injuries of innocent people on their hands.

And it seems they don’t care a toss.

  1. I thought I remembered that pathetic retort from boris, but In my hazy memory mistakenly recalled it being something about the olympics.

But it just shows that they don’t give a flying one. Those victims are nowt more than collateral damage in the ruthless, incessant profit grasp.

I doubt very much any politicos’ll be held to account. It’ll land on those that manually fitted the block out; not those holding the purse strings.

    Sh*t rolls downhill…

  2. Please consider the words of Lord Denning

    ” Fraud Unravels Everything ”

I as a nobody can add from my own knowledge

” And Electoral Fraud on the scale on which it is happening Constitutes an Unprecedented Constitutional Crisis

  3. This is a national issue not just a London issue, The whole country wher Tower blocks are used need a proper investigation. It was clear from the outset the the London Fire brigade does not have the proper equipment to tackle Tower Block fires. I wonder how many other Fire authorities are in the same position. Heads must be jailed for this.

  4. AS ENEMIES GO HE’S HIS WORST ONE!
IF JUSTICE IS SERVED, HE CAN TELL HIS CELL MATE T GET STUFFED!
ALONG WITH THE REST WHO VOTED YESTERDAY NOT TO UPGRADE FIRE REGULATIONS IN HIGH RISE APARTMENTS!
THESE CLOWNS CAN’T LOOK AFTER THE FOLK OF THIS COUNTRY WHEN THERE IS NO WAR!
GOD HELP US ALL IF THERE EVER IS!

  5. Is the fire brigade’s response actually in question here? This seems like it has far more to do with the plastic cladding and plastic windows that surrounded Grenfell and the lacklustre regulations that led to them being installed. Is this really related to cuts?

    1. The available firefighters performed admirably beyond measure. But however well they did, there would have been more there, as quickly or faster, if Johnson had not cut stations and officers. And more lives would have been saved as a result.

  6. Tories care nothing for normal
People this is a way for them to reduce the plebs as they call us. Their cuts are killing our country and our people literally

  7. they call it efficiency cuts but really it is just cuts. cuts in cover and jobs when one years salary equals a months salary of the CEOs.

  8. web page trying to make money from the fire incident. bunch of sneaky gits.. sorry it just popped out.

  9. N10 should stand up and admit what cuts have done go and look not just sit and wait .these people are humans not numbers or voters open your eyes to reality .

  10. Good spot. Even when he apologizes, it doesn’t feel like he cares much, does he? He put an appalling oaf called Brian Coleman in charge, don’t know if you can find more on him out there.

Congratulations on the election, by the way. Delighted May is in trouble. I never saw this coming.

  11. Fire engines arrived at the Tower in 6 minutes after the first call. Doesn’t sound like a fail to me. This tragedy is down to the management company and possibly the person who labelled the cladding fire retardant. I wonder where it was manufactured. These are the bigger questions rather than using this tradgedy for political purposes.

    1. Had others trying to make this point. THREE nearby fire stations and dozens of firefighters were cut. However fast the response, MORE could have been there in the same time or less if those cuts had not been made. Nothing changes that.

  12. I’d be surprised if boris’ reaction when he was told about the seriousness of the fire wasn’t the same as Lord Mayor Thomas Bloodworth’s response when told about the great fire of London…

‘Pish! A woman could p1$$ it out” :/

  13. I really hope it’s him we take on next time. His bubble needs bursting. Or should I say his boil needs squeezing?

  14. Can we have a printable version of your news so we can print it off and give it to those that do not go on the internet, those bombarded with Tory news! I would print and share far and wide I know plenty brainwashed zombies waiting to be cured 😂 So please give me a printable version so I can give them some proper news and not the Tory lying machine.

  15. Typical and careless attitude to the general public, who pay for these idiots to represent them. 30 deaths and rising. Deaths that should never have been and could have been completely avoided. The art of listening to the population seems to have disappeared, and replaced with a negligent and belligerent arrogance of many politicians. America suffers from this same problem.

    1. Don’t forget Boris Johnson fiddled the pollution machines whilst Mayor of London (pollution was critical) so private bus companies etc… did not have to make changes to their buses, ensuring people think Labour cost them more money!! Tories are vermin, they steam roller over peoples rights and bury anyone who opposes them!
