The Tory election campaign continues to lurch from one ‘weak and wobbly’ disaster to the next. May has been an absolute embarrassment, but the few other spokespeople allowed out in front of cameras have competed hard to keep up with her.
Especially Michael Fallon, who has become a byword for his multiple meltdowns over the Tory manifesto. And it’s not getting any better.
As the Guardian reports this morning, the Tory Defence Secretary was asked by the Telegraph whether high earners were safe from tax rises if the Tories are re-elected and answered an emphatic:
Yes.
That set Theresa May falling over herself to slap down Fallon’s unscripted promise. Asked by a journalist whether she would categorically promise not to raise taxes, she responded by refusing to rule out tax rises for anyone, offering vagueness in a slightly broken voice instead:
When a Tory behaves like this, you only need two eyes and as many brain-cells to know she’s frantically dancing around to try to avoid promising something she can be attacked for later.
It’s as plain as day that, as in so many other areas, Theresa May and her party can’t be trusted on taxes. Under the Tories, nobody is safe, whether you’re a low-, middle- or high-earner. You simply can’t trust them and they’re failing to hide that fact effectively.
By contrast, Labour has made a firm manifesto promise that nobody earning under £80,000 will pay a penny more in tax or national insurance.
No-brainer.

That last bit there, “higher taxes for all and ordinary working people paying the price.”, said about Labour is an outright lie!!! Outrageous!!! Said about where the Tories are heading, however, seems pretty accurate if they can’t even commit to not raising taxes for high-earners. Obviously they can’t commit to the many, but why can’t they even commit to their fatcat few?!
So she evades questions and commitments that hold the Tories to account and lies about her opponents. How are they even ALLOWED to lie and still be in a position of authority and representation?
I’ll elaborate on what I’ve partially said before: If May has any remorse or dignity then she’ll:
• admit that she’s wrong (and feeble);
• apologise for the vast amount of damage that she’s done to our country, both as Home Secretary and Prime Minister;
• admit that she’s not fit for any position of authority, representation, or anything else that relies on honesty ever again; and
• proceed to resign from this position of authority and representation before we democratically remove her next Thursday!
I don’t believe in the current culture of one-off mistakes prompting resignations, but her clear demonstration that she’s unfit for a roll of authority or representation calls firmly for resignation.
So then. Will she jump before she’s pushed?
She is a hasty liar. She hasted for Manifest, too. Hasty for everything and kept changing the manifest is unforgivable, don’t you think. This is not a behaviour as PM. So, Brexit will be the same. Keep changing her mind. Also you must remember, Cameron kept changing changing changing his promise to British people that how he got elected. Tory became really nasty party since Careworn.
