The Scum goes after Chakrabarti – and it’s just as crap as dancegate

So, the Sun – from here on, the Scum as it’s properly called – is up to its nonsense again.

Less than 2 weeks ago, the Scum (along with its fellow rag the Mail) published a series of doctored pictures in an idiotic attempt to smear Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn by suggesting he was dancing on his way to the Cenotaph for a Remembrance Day service.

Both ‘newspapers’ quickly withdrew the story when the scam was exposed, amid much, richly-deserved ridicule.

Now the Murdoch backside-wipe is trying a similarly idiotic trick, but a slightly less obvious one at first glance. The target is, as ever, the resurgent Labour party under Corbyn – but this time via Shami Chakrabarti, the author of Labour’s report into allegations of anti-semitism, who has already been extensively and nonsensically smeared by right-wing media and political groups.

I won’t link to the Scum, but here’s a snapshot of its Twitter trailer of the article:

It claims Chakrabarti has been ‘slammed for suggesting her party is no worse than any other on anti-Semitism’.

This is true, as far as it goes – because the Scum is doing the slamming, aided and abetted by the usual Tory anus-talkers. But it’s absolute bollocks.

The CHAC (Commons Home Affairs Committee) report published some weeks ago has already been used to attack Labour, including by right-wing Labour MPs – but even though it is a ridiculously self-contradictory document, it can’t avoid stating, in its conclusion, that:

Despite significant press and public attention on the Labour Party, and a number of revelations regarding inappropriate social media content, there exists no reliable, empirical evidence to support the notion that there is a higher prevalence of antisemitic attitudes within the Labour Party than any other political party. We are unaware whether efforts to identify antisemitic social media content within the Labour Party were applied equally to members and activists from other political parties, and we are not aware of any polls exploring antisemitic attitudes among political party members, either within or outside the Labour Party. The current impression of a heightened prevalence of antisemitism

Even a Commons report that attempted to criticise Labour’s handling of antisemitism accusations couldn’t avoid admitting that there is absolutely nothing to suggest Labour has a particular problem.

In other words, Shami Chakrabarti was only saying what even her critics say.

And the Scum is ‘chatting shit’. As usual. Old, dry shit at that.
